Very interesting photos! I love seeing pictures from other countries and trying to see if I can find tiny details that are different and that I've never seen before. Even small details like the way the arrows are on the streets can be so interesting to look at! Also, that wrap looks delicious!

Ooh... I don't know if I'm brave enough to just jump on a bus.Quite a few of the buses here go out to "nowhere," but perhaps "nowhere" is interesting. :)

That umbrella looks so cool! I've never seen one like that before!

Also, that food all looks delicious. The wrap especially is making me hungry.

When I want to explore a new city, I just hop on buses. It sounds weird, but I figure the bus goes to all the places that people who live there typically go, and so I see a lot of things. It's always a good start because I'll notice things I want to look up later (not just signs for places, especially when you can't read them, but i notice if a lot of people get off at one stop and write down the intersection and look it up to see what might be in that area later)

Or I'll just get off and walk around where I feel like it.

GoogleMaps is upsettingly crappy in Korea. :( Naver, the Korean alternative to Google, has an excellent map system that incorporates public transportation, bike lanes, etc. though. I'll keep Wikitravel in mind. Thanks!

White Oleander is one of my favorites, too! I love the writing in that book so much!

One of my other favorites is Into the Forest by Jean Hegland, which I would recommend.

I'm on goodreads! If you join you should add me. I like being able to keep track of the books I read. My only resolution this year is to keep track of the books that I read, so I have a 2012 shelf on there just for that reason. I think it will be cool to look back and see all I read this year.
